SER
Mission Statement
What does SER offer for students
Does
SER have a retired rate?
Yes.
SER does offer an emeritus rate to longstanding SER members who
are retired. The rate is approved on a case by case basis with the
SER membership office.
Who qualifies
for the student rate?
An
individual qualifies for the student rate at the graduate, post
graduate and post-doc level. However, an individual can only qualify
for the student rate for 4 consecutive years.
Why are
memberships on a calendar year basis?
In order
to manage subscriptions to the American Journal of Epidemiology
and manage the business of SER, it was determined that membership
renewal on a calendar year basis, with a set renewal period, would
be the most beneficial to the Society and its membership.
How do
I become a member of SER?
Follow
this link to fill out the online membership application. Payment
is due at the time of submission and can be submitted by VISA or
MasterCard online. If you prefer to pay by check, print out the
form and mail it to the address below:

What
is included in SER membership?
A
full year subscription to AJE (January - December) is included in
SER membership. However, memberships received after the first of
the year will not receive hard copies of journal issues missed,
but rather will have to access them online. Also included in SER
is an issue of the Epidemiologic Reviews published each January.
Also included in SER membership is a bi-annual newsletter, discounted
registration fees for the Annual meeting held in June each year,
and an online Job Board (coming this winter).
How
often do I renew?
Individuals
must renew each year. SER does not at this time have a multi-year
renewal option. The renewal period is Oct 1 - Dec 15 of each year.
Memberships can be submitted after Dec 15 but will not receive hard
copies of any issues missed.
How do
I access AJE Online?
SER has a global
username and password for its membership which changes annually.
If you do not have access, email membership@epiresearch.org. If
your membership is current and paid in full, you will be given the
username and password.
What
is contained in the Members only section of the website and how
do I access it?
An online membership
directory and an online job board (coming this winter) are both
available in the members-only section of the SER website. You must
have a username and password to access this information. If you
do not have access, email membership@epiresearch.org.
